Wine Tasting Fundraiser to Benefit Marrakech

Proceeds to Support Housing, Employment and Programs Run by Marrakech that are Underfunded

Woodbridge, CT - The vineyards of Europe and South America will come to life at the Marrakech Wine Tasting, a fundraiser to benefit Marrakech, Inc., a nonprofit organization that provides housing and employment services to children and adults with disabilities and people facing economic barriers. All proceeds from this event will benefit unfunded and underfunded programs.

The Marrakech Wine Tasting event, co- hosted by The Wine Thief and Avellino's Trattoria will be held on Thursday, February 16 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Avellino's Trattoria located at 4 Orange Street in New Haven.

Wine enthusiasts will be able to experience over 15 different varieties of wines from the vineyards of Italy, Spain, and South America; each selected by The Wine Thief. An array of Hors d'oeuvres from Avellino's Trattoria will be served during the event.

"The Marrakech Wine Tasting event continues to be a wonderful way for the community to come together in support of the vital programs and services that Marrakech provides, " said Frank McCarthy, executive director, Marrakech, Inc.

Marrakech Wine Tasting tickets are $40 and must be reserved by February 10. Attendees can pick up their reserved tickets at the door the evening of the event. Non-reserved, walk-in ticket prices are $50 and can be purchased at the door.

Marrakech, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that provides a wide range of human services to children & adults throughout Connecticut. Founded in 1971, Marrakech established the first halfway house in Connecticut for women with mental retardation.
